The Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) screening programme

The NHS abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening programme was introduced in 2008, with a phased implementation beginning in 2009 that was completed in 2013.
The programme introduced ultrasound screening for men during their 65th year (those over 65 who had not been screened previously could self-refer).
