NHS Employers

November 2004

NHS Employers was established in November 2004 to negotiate on behalf of employers in the NHS to:

  • manage the negotiation infrastructure that supported discussions between NHS employers and unions on pay and terms and conditions
  • support employers with the shape and size of the local workforce and provide advice on domestic and international recruitment
  • represent employers locally, nationally and internationally, sharing good practice and feeding in to policy in key areas, including equality and diversity and professional regulation
  • provide information and advice to help ensure the health and wellbeing of the NHS workforce.
