HoC Committee on Social Services report on community care

The House of Commons Committee on Social Services reported on community care in 1985. The committee supported the concept of community care but was concerned about the release of 'mentally disabled' people into the community without adequate support.

The committee recommended that patients should have a care plan in place before they were discharged. The committee further recommended that greater funding was needed and cautioned against the development of services 'on the cheap'.
