'Integrated care and support: our shared commitment' framework document

Integrated care and support: our shared commitment set out the shared vision of a national partnership, which included the Department of Health, NHS England, Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS), Care Quality Commission (CQC), Local Government Association (LGA), National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and National Voices, among others.

The shared vision promoted the use of National Voices' headline definition of integration: 'I can plan my care with people who work together to understand me and my carer(s), allow me control, and bring together services to achieve the outcomes important to me'.

The shared commitments detailed in the document were around:

  • pursuing a common purpose
  • developing national resources for local ambitions
  • providing practical aids to local areas
  • integrating information processes and systems
  • accelerating learning across the system.
